Our purpose over the past 50+ years has been to meet our customers' expectations by providing optimum lighting solutions. Three generations of our family business have shared this passion.
It all started in 1972 when André Beauchamp founded Bralco in Montréal. From the very beginning, with support from his wife Berthe, he devoted himself to doing everything in his power to serve his customers well. He even visited merchants in the after working hours to test fixtures and made evening and Sunday deliveries to businesses. For André, one phrase summarizes it all, “At Bralco, the customer is key!”
In 1986, their children Michel, Marie-Claude and Denis embarked in their turn on the family adventure. Working at Bralco was a way for them to spend time with their parents and profit from their knowledge and experience. They also learned to treat customers like family.
In 2021, Mélissa and Cynthya Beauchamp, the third generation of leadership, began to take their places in the business and its warehouse, which covers over 7000 square feet. They followed the example of their respective fathers, who encouraged them to follow in the family footsteps. Thirty-eight years later, after a very full life of projects and encounters, Michel and Denis passed the torch on to Mélissa and Cynthya.
“For me, working at Bralco was an extraordinary family experience, and the importance of giving our customers good advice has always been central to what we do,” said Michel Beauchamp. “It’s also thanks to our suppliers, our super employees and the support and trust of our customers for all these years. I’m even prouder because the story is continuing today with an energetic, skillful and committed third generation.” Denis added, “Right on! Cynthya and Mélissa are fully involved, they’re making the right decisions and they’re having fun.”
Today, the little girls who grew up knowing all about Bralco are firmly in the saddle, pursuing just as tenaciously the pathway already laid out with determination and kindness.
